Betrayed is based on the premise that two weapons smuggling operations twenty years apart are influenced by one common theme of betrayal. Was it a friend or foe who was responsible?
During the early 1980's weapons smuggling has become a wildly profitable business as the Western free world squared off against the forces of dictatorial powers in the Middle East.¿ To help combat the menace The British MI6 unit teams up one of their assets with an American CIA operative.¿ Together they lead several successful raids until they go for the big score.¿ While they destroy the weapons the group loses two major operatives as the enemy appeared to be ready for them.¿ The question raised, "Were they set up?"
Twenty years later the MI6 agent has been assigned to Afghanistan to run operations similar to the earlier work.¿ This time the stakes have been raised when the agent readies a team for a major intercept only to sidetracked at the last minute.¿ The question again, Were they "Betrayed?'¿¿¿¿¿
