Nora doesn't want a relationship with her neighbor. She has no confidence in her family's love for her, nor has she confidence that she will be loved. She spurns the attention of her next door store owner and is surly. Christmas is coming, and odd things happen until she is forced to come to terms with her inner self to see the world differently.
