Pat Beckemeyer, who lives in Wichita, Kansas, was introduced to poetry at the age of 16 when her high school sweetheart, now her husband Roy, sent her love poems every day at school via his sister. She was drawn more seriously to poetry 10 years ago by a desire to spend more time with her husband. Other than poetry, she is also excited by gardening, bird watching, acrylic painting, butterflies, storms, mountains, oceans and her current Labrador Retriever, Jenna, who appears in several poems.
