This is the first volume of the complete poetical works of Ivor Gurney (1890-1937). Following an extensive study of all known manuscripts, the edition changes our understanding of Gurney's development, and of the true nature of his poetry. Volume I presents all of Gurney's poems written from March 1907 to December 1918. But here we are with the first of a five-volume Oxford edition of his poetical works, meticulously edited with all the bells and whistles accorded to major authors, which seems to set the seal on his reputation.
